The Renovation of La Longère

La Longère - May 2002

History

The house is believed to be somewhere in the region of 200 years old and appears to have originally been several dwelling with a number of outbuildings.

La Longère was purchased as a total ruin in May 2002. It had been empty for about 80 years in which time the roof had fallen in, all of the internal timbers, doors and windows had rotten away and part of the rear wall to the main house has collapsed.

The whole site was completely overgrown and it was difficult to see what buildings were actually under the foliage and trees.

Renovations started in the summer of 2002 and were completed in summer 2006.
